Izakaya Night Vol. 9 – Urakasumi Returns for a Special Encore with Chef Hiroki Odo
Dear Valued Guests,
THE GALLERY by Odo is delighted to announce the ninth installment of our signature “Izakaya Night” with a special return of Urakasumi Sake Brewery—taking place across two consecutive evenings in April.
Following the overwhelming popularity of our November collaboration, which sold out almost immediately, we are honored to welcome Urakasumi back for an encore celebration of sake and Japanese culinary culture.
This time, the event will unfold at two Odo destinations in New York:
• Thursday, April 9th, 2026 – Odo East Village
• Friday, April 10th, 2026 – THE GALLERY by Odo
“Izakaya Night” is a special event where our team curates an evening of exceptional Japanese sake alongside original dishes created by Chef Hiroki Odo and his team. Each installment celebrates craftsmanship, terroir, and the convivial spirit of Japan’s izakaya culture.
We are proud to once again feature Urakasumi Sake Brewery (Saura Co., Ltd.) from Shiogama City, Miyagi Prefecture. Founded in 1724, Urakasumi is one of Japan’s most revered breweries and is known for producing the sacred “Omiki” sake offered to the historic Shiogama Shrine. Today, under the leadership of the 13th-generation owner Mr. Koichi Saura, the brewery continues to craft elegant and balanced sake that expresses the character of Miyagi’s coastal terroir.
For this special collaboration, guests will enjoy a curated lineup of Urakasumi’s celebrated sake:
● Urakasumi Junmai – A flexible and complex junmai offering balanced umami, gentle sweetness, and toasted nut aromas. Delicious both chilled and warm.
● Urakasumi Zen Junmai Ginjo – The brewery’s iconic 1973 release, loved for its soft melon aroma, creamy texture, and harmonious finish.
● Urakasumi M Black Label Junmai Daiginjo – A limited-edition expression aged for four years, crafted from only the heart of the sake mash, delivering refined depth and layered elegance.
● Heaven Sake Urakasumi Junmai Daiginjo – A beautifully balanced sake assemblage created by HEAVENSAKE in collaboration with Urakasumi Brewery.
To complement these sakes, Chef Odo and his culinary team will present seasonal dishes designed to highlight the subtlety and layered flavors of Urakasumi—drawing inspiration from the sea and land of Miyagi.
Guests can experience the event in two different izakaya atmospheres:
• Odo East Village, newly opened in February 2026, introduces a lively kaiseki izakaya concept, offering a relaxed yet refined interpretation of Japanese seasonal cuisine.
• THE GALLERY by Odo continues its tradition of intimate, craft-focused dining where sake and cuisine meet in a curated cultural setting.
Given how quickly the previous Urakasumi night sold out, we warmly encourage guests to make reservations early before seats are gone again.
Join us for two special evenings celebrating sake, craftsmanship, and the convivial spirit of Japanese izakaya culture.
